Megan & Josh | Victory from One Tree Films on Vimeo.

In the wedding planning process we debated getting a videographer. It's an investment that seems like a lot on top of the wedding - yet I can promise you it's unbelievably worth it.

After viewing the final product, I can't imagine not having these moments captured. Michael from One Tree create a beautiful story of the day, that just felt like us. That joyful feeling from the day sets back in every time it plays. I'm sure the dude and I will be watching it even decades from now.

a happy engagement.

After a whirlwind of a summer, starting a new job & wedding planning (and then getting hitched!), I'm excited to settle back in our new happy little life together. Here are a few of my favorites shots with the dude and the chunk.

sites we love: svpply

I've been on a serious hiatus from here (attributed to wedding planning - see post below), but came across this tasty little discovery and must share. Like most ladies out there, I have a shopping addiction. but not enough time to scroll all my favorite shops and sift through each and every inventory. Svpply is like a one stop shop for skimming through your favorites - like a personalized mall of eCommerce goodness customized just for you.

how it works:
- Sign up
- Create your profile of all your favorite brands
- Start following friends and trend mavens
- Add items to your "Want" list or buy direct

Here's a few of my current "wants":

pretty effing brilliant, eh? Happy svpplying!

wedding planning: must have sites.

What seemed like ages of time to plan our wedding has now shrunk to just a few months. I have nothing but respect for the ladies out there that can hold a full time job, make time for family/friends and still plan an entire wedding solo! I was a bit too optimistic in my ability to get all the details together all on my own. Luckily, throughout the planning process I've found a few sites that have been a saving grace for inspiration:

It makes planning oh so much easier if you get a mood board together. That way you can work with vendors to make joint decisions together right away, and it's right in line with your style and taste. Here's a look at what has inspired me for the big day:

(photo cred above.)

{Currently obsesses with birdcage veils, so delicate and pretty.}

{Essential touches of gold}

{simple + lovely.}

{I'm not one for bling, but maybe a little in this case}

{embracing our urban backdrop.}

 {touches of romantic vintage.}

{floor length gray for the ladies.}

{understated pretty.}

{ceiling bulb lights, a must.}

{and of course, inspiration for Bentley's attire}

I'm still anticipating a mad dash to pull everything together as September nears, but to keep my sanity, I'm keeping a few things in mind:

1. There will be an open bar. (so, of course, everyone will be happy)
2. Everyone will be nothing but joyous to celebrate with us.
3. My 'maids are adorable and have fantastic taste, so I know they'll help me make it lovely.
4. I get to marry my best friend. How awesome is that?

The count down is on! Happy planning!! Xx

skinny caramel white russians.

White Russians always remind me of college. My favorite bar in Lawrence, Jazzhaus, offered $1 anything on Tuesdays, and needless to say my friends and I camped out there each week. For some reason we started a tradition of drinking white russians. Considering my collegiate appetite for drinking, it haunts me to think of how many of those we would have in a night - probably equivalent to chugging a half a galloon of half & half. Eck. Thank god for youthful metabolism. Now a days, since the freedom to eat or drink anything without leaving a mark is long gone, I've switched my WR cravings to a more practical mix. I'll admit, its a bit of an abomination to the real deal, but it's still pretty freaking tasty!

Start by trimming the inside of a glass with the chocolate (or use caramel if you're going all out). Mix the milk, Kahlua and vodka and pour over ice.

Skinny White Russian:
1 shot (oz.) Kahlua
1 shot (oz.) caramel vodka
1 cup vanilla soymilk (I drink Silk)
Sugar-free chocolate syrup

{if adding chocolate, keep away from bulldogs. Sorry B.}

sites we love: storenvy.

I have (yet another) channel for shopping addiction fixes.

Storenvy is essentially the lovechild of Pinterest + Etsy. It's a visual board of all things pin-worthy, but buyable with just a click. What's even better, most items are adorable, independently made and extremely affordable! (I got the necklace below for $3.99. huzzah!)

Here are a few of my recent purchases:

Your bank account may hate it, but your closet will LOVE it. Enjoy!

on the record: cayucas

(photo via)

There's a lot of new music right now getting me excited for the sunshine - one band taking the top is Cayucos (not be confused with Cayucos, the name of a recent track). They'll make you wish you were driving with the top down to Santa Monica. Excellent California beach rock, i.e. think modern day beach boys.  Here's a listen to a few of their singles:

Bring on the sunnies and shandy!
