I've been on a serious hiatus from here (attributed to wedding planning - see post below), but came across this tasty little discovery and must share. Like most ladies out there, I have a shopping addiction. but not enough time to scroll all my favorite shops and sift through each and every inventory. channeling Jenna for J. Crew.

It's hard not to have a major girl crush on Jenna Lyons. She has such a natural artistic eye for style. And with that she has single-handedly (okay, with a giant staff) made me a J. Crew lover. Scratch that, obsessor.

J. Crew is one of those brands that is so classic yet tends to always push it a bit each season. Not only that but they have mastered digital and social media to make fans of the brands become part of the family. Take this little clip for example.

prints charming.

I love picking up on interesting trends when I travel. One thing that definitely stood out was the interesting use of bold prints and color in the decor of Dubai. The use of geometrics and palate mixing was everywhere: rugs, tiles, pillows - you name it. I'm generally not one to wear crazy bold prints {my closet is a sea of black and neutral, with a very occasional leopard print}. However, this spring I'm vowing to pick up some bold printed pieces. Here are a few I'm craving.

What's better than leaving work early for a snow day? Watching Bentley FREAK OUT about snow. 

That girl must be insanely hydrated for the amount of snow she's eaten (after rolling around in it. uck.). I guess it's cheaper than dog treats. We thoroughly enjoyed our snow day. And stayed warm in a beanie adorned by the vintage brooch I've been trying to figure out what to wear with (a trick adopted from my girl, Megan, from Chasing Davies). Hope you all are enjoying your last bit of winter!

I feel for those girls that braved the winter storms for New York Fashion Week this year, but not that bad because they were at freaking NYFW. Outside of the actual runway looks, I love seeing the street style of the attendees themselves. Here were a few of my favorite looks from those lucky ladies.

I often find myself getting lost in the never-ending valley of Etsy shops. There are so many great designers and craftsters out there. And every so often I find one I can't keep to myself - such as this brilliant jewelry designer, LilahV. Her line of colorful, dainty necklaces are so 1940s-esque, with a modern touch. Now to decide on just one...

Right before the big winter chill set in we had an unseasonably gorgeous day. It had been a while since we took a stroll through the park, so we took the chunk out - and she made some friends along the way.

CHANEL Spring 2013 Haute Couture

I love that big time brands - even the iconic Chanel - are embracing social and making their runway so accessible to the masses who aren't VIP at NYFW. Burberry started the trend, and now Chanel is sharing their exclusive runway shows - which totally made my Saturday morning. Their 2013 Spring-Summer show was very unconventionally placed in a scene stole from mother nature. The looks are simply stunning, and expectedly parisian chic. But, what I really adore about Chanel is the total wearability and effortlessness of every piece. It's worth the 17 minute watch.

I've been obsessed with this track below lately - and pretty much everything Jessie Ware does. She has not only an amazing voice and talent for beats but also has such a distinct vintage glamour that I simply love. For more on Jessie, check out this recent interview.

klutz-proof cat eye.

I'm a huge fan of the cat eye trend, and having tried it time and time again, I just can't seem to pull of the annoyingly perfect curve of a line popping up everywhere. Coordination has never been my strong suit. That's why learning this new trick from Refinery29 made me jump for jollies. Tiffany Patton, a NYC based makeup artist shows you how to rock the cat eye using a simple black eyeliner pencil, a q-tip and a dab of cream (she uses MAC fast response eye cream, but I use Benefit "It's Potent" eye cream and found it worked just as well).

{One extra tip is to do this before you apply your foundation powder as the cream can create unevenness in your skin makeup. Another option is to use a small brush to lightly re-apply powder around the corner of the eye to create a cleanness around the liner.}

For the less liquid-pen-challenged, I've tried these pictured above with some luck,

and if you have the time and precision they work wonders.

Stila is by far the easiest to apply and control, with Chanel taking a close second.

No need to unbutton tomorrow post-turkey. This feast uniform is a lifesaver: oversized sweater + leggings = allows for a little give and lot of joyful cranberry-covered indulgence. If you go with the convenience of a legging or jegging, make sure your oversized top is long enough to cover anything grandma wouldn't want to see. This is a family holiday, after all. Forks up, ya'll.
